What about plated metals?
Any materials listed as "silver or gold plated" are from a supplier with some of the highest quality standards in the business. The plating is many times thicker than standards require, and should last years without "wearing" through. Many customers with metal allergies have been able to wear these items without trouble. If you are highly metal sensitive, I recommend coating the exposed parts with clear nail polish when you get it, or let me know and I can do that prior to shipping.

Payment policy
I prefer PayPal. International orders are by PayPal only. I accept money order, cashiers check or personal check, and will ship your order as soon as the funds are verified by my bank. Payment methods other than PayPal are expected within 3 business days of order request(5 days if during postal holiday). When possible, your payment will be posted to my account the day I recieve it, and verification of those funds may take up to 7 days.

Are you on e-bay or other auction sites?
Nope. My home is here with Ecrater. Ecrater does not charge a listing fee, a photo fee, a sales fee or anything else. The only fee I pay is a small percent to PayPal. This keeps my costs low so I can offer the best price to my customers.

General shipping policy
I ship anywhere on this planet that USPS, UPS or FedEx will deliver(sorry N. Korea and Cuba!). If you are outside the US mainland, please e-mail your list of requested items and your location. I can then reply with an adjusted Paypal invoice and accurate shipping quote. I PROMISE NOT TO GOUGE YOU on shipping and handling, and will combine shipping for a multiple item order. Most orders will be sent USPS Priority Mail.

International shipping
Please send international order requests to: martapinkston@sbcglobal.com, and I will reply with a correct PayPal invoice, detailing exact shipping. I will ship anywhere on the planet by USPS First Class Mail International. Prices listed are based on mailing a padded envelope, and includes a Certificate of Mailing. Several items of doll jewelry can be mailed per ounce, so the average price is $4.00 USD. Orders including people jewelry will be shipped in a sturdy box, and average $13.00 USD.

How durable is this jewelry?
Unless otherwise stated, my jewelry is strung on Accu-lon, a multi-stranded stainless steel wire which is braided and then encased in nylon. The ends are crimped in place for added security. Accu-lon is the best material I've found- it's strong, resists fraying and kinking and still able to "drape" even on lighter pieces. Many of my bracelets are strung on Stretch Magic, an elastic cord that will stretch nearly twice it's length without breaking. They are finished with a double square knot, and when possible, hidden inside a bead and then glued in place. Frequently the bead holes do not allow me to hide the knot, so you may see it if you look close enough. These knots I don't glue since that makes them even larger and stiffer, leading to poking and irritation. When earrings are listed as Sterling Silver or Gold-Filled, this refers to the ear wire only. Most drops use a silver- or gold-plated headpin, simply to reduce the final cost. A few designs may use sterling silver headpins, and are noted in the description.

How do I care for pearls?
Pearls should be the last thing you put on- after make-up, after perfume, after hairspray- as these products can stain or damage pearls. Pearls absorb natural body oils, and over time the luster will deepen. If worn often(two or more times per week), knotted pearls should be re-strung once a year. Clean only with the mildest soap, and dry immediately with a soft cloth. Treated with care, pearls are a treasure that can be passed down to future generations.

Do you do custom orders?
Absolutely! Many of my clients have difficulty finding pretty things in their size(off the shelf is either too small or too big!), so I can take an item they have and custom fit it, or make a piece similar to one they've seen in a store or catalog. Also, if you find an item here on my site, but need a larger or smaller size, just let me know- during check-out, under the "Select Payment Method" box, there's a space for "Notes" where you may specify color/size/personalization, etc. Type in the correct length, and I'll send exactly what you need. I also make jewelry for bridesmaids, complimenting the color of the dress with the goal of having the jewelry become part of her regular wardrobe after the wedding. Need to outfit lots of folks(choir, church, band, etc) with similar pieces? No problem! This is a great way to add flair to choir robes or band uniforms!

Doll jewelry?!?
Why not?? A friend who collects high-end fashion dolls got me started on doll jewelry. This is another creative outlet, and "working small" is a challenge.

What is PMC?
PMC -or Precious Metal Clay(TM)- is made of tiny silver particles in a cellulose clay binder. PMC can be molded, shaped or stamped just like regular clay. After firing with a torch or in a kiln, the clay binder burns off, leaving only pure silver. This wonderful product gives me the freedom to sculpt pendants, rings or whatever comes to my imagination. The finished piece is classified as "Fine Silver" since it's 99.95% pure(sterling is 92.5% silver, the rest is alloy metals).

What if I need clip-on earrings or have a metal allergy?
I can convert your earrings to plated clip-ons(free), or to sterling silver($1.50) or gold filled wires($2). I can also supply sterling and gold-filled clip-ons for an additional cost(up to $30). 14k white or yellow gold wires also available(about $32). Please select your desired earring upgrade from the "Special Items" category.

Where'd it go?
"I've been looking at a certain item, and now that I want to buy it, it's gone!" Beside selling on-line, I also sell at local craft fairs and trade shows. If a unique design sells at a local event, I may not be able to duplicate the piece, so will remove it from my listing. Contact me directly and I may be able to make another, but if the design was intricate or contained unique gemstones, you may be out of luck!

Made in the USA!
All items shown on this site are designed and assembled by me, here in Texas, USA. I hate the fact that almost all of the beads and other materials I use are produced overseas by very skilled craftmen earning less than a dollar an hour. I do my best to support artists here in this country and will use locally crafted beads when and where I can, and that information is included with your purchase. I encourage you to purchase products made in the USA, even if it costs a little more. Think global, shop local!

Charitable Donations?
There are several organizations near and dear to my heart, and now you can help! 25% of my profits will go to the charity you list during checkout under "Message to Seller". Be sure to chose GALA (of Dallas), SPCA (of McKinney). FREE (Free Thinkers of Dallas) or KERA (NPR/PBS in Dallas). Each of these organizations offer important social and educational resources in my community.
